SAVE the DATE!: LUNCH for MAJORS and MINORS Thurs., MARCH 7
Dear Religion majors and minors,
Please come for pizza, lemonade, and cookies at lunch time on Thursday, March 7, 2013, from 12 noon to 1 pm in the Archaeology Research Center Gallery (ACB 330) for an important discussion about your experience as a major or minor in the School of Religion.
At the direction of the Provost, all undergraduate programs throughout the University are undergoing periodic reviews as part of the University’s accreditation process. This review process is to help programs strengthen the undergraduate experience they offer and applies to all programs; no program is “targeted” for review in any way.
This semester USC Dornsife is reviewing the Religion undergraduate program and cordially invites you to meet with the faculty committee charged with conducting this review, DR. ANN TAVES, Virgil Cordano, OFM, Professor of Catholic Studies and Professor of Religious Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara, and Dr. William Deverell, USC Dornisfe Professor of History.
The review committee is interested in hearing about your experiences with your courses, quality of teaching, interaction with faculty and TAs, quality of advisement, and other aspects of your experience as Religion majors or minors. While this is not a “gripe session,” we are very interested in your honest opinions. Your comments remain confidential — no faculty or staff of the department or Dornsife administration will be present and the review committee will not identify comments by any individual by name. Your input is very important to this review process and will help your faculty and others make decisions to offer the best possible experience to students in the future.
We hope that you could accommodate this time in your busy schedules. If you could come for some, but not all, of this time slot, please feel free to come for what you can.
Please help us know how much pizza to order by RSVPing to me at kamei@dornsife.usc.edu if you plan on attending. We hope to have your participation in this important endeavor.
Thank you, and regards,
Dean Susan Kamei
